Delete from the app
- Open BillSnap and tap Settings.
- Tap Delete my data, then Continue.
- Choose whether to also delete the bills saved on this phone. Make a backup first if you want to keep them.
- Tap Delete to confirm. The app tells you when your data has been erased.
Deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone. If you use BillSnap again afterwards, it starts a new, empty account.
If you have uninstalled BillSnap, reinstall it on the same phone. It reconnects to your account, and you can then use Settings → Delete my data.
What is deleted
- Plan and usage: your plan (Free or Pro) and scan counts.
- Scan status: records of recent scans.
- Device and session records: install IDs, platform, app version and device-check results linked to your account.
- Email sign-in records: the one-way hash of your email address and any pending sign-in code.
- Support ID and the link from it to your account.
- Subscription record at RevenueCat, our subscription processor.
- Bills on your phone, if you choose to delete them too. Otherwise they stay on your phone until you delete them or uninstall the app.
You can also delete individual bills in the app at any time without deleting your account.
What is kept, and for how long
- Support action records: if we took a support action on your account, such as granting scans, a record of that action stays with your support ID for up to 13 months. It contains nothing else about you.
- Service logs: our server logs (timings and error codes, with your anonymous ID and no bill content) are deleted automatically after 90 days.
- Security counters: request counts held under one-way hashes of IP addresses and install IDs are deleted automatically after at most 60 days.
- Scanned photos at Anthropic: our AI provider keeps scan inputs and outputs for a limited period under its terms (at the time of writing, up to 30 days), then deletes them. We never stored them.
- Crash reports at Sentry: these contain no BillSnap user or support ID, so they can't be linked to your account. Sentry deletes them under its own retention rules.
- Purchase records at Google and Apple: the stores keep their own records of your purchases under their own policies.
- Your backups: backup files you saved stay wherever you saved them. Delete them there if you no longer want them.
Subscriptions
Deleting your data does not stop Pro renewals. Cancel your subscription in Google Play → Subscriptions or, on iPhone, in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
